Neelam Valley & Arrang Kel — 4 Days (Lahore)

Depart Lahore at midnight and drive through the night on the motorway, crossing into Azad Kashmir and descending to Muzaffarabad by breakfast time. Continue along the Neelam River road, arriving in Keran — where the turquoise river splits the two sides of Kashmir — by early afternoon. Check in, enjoy a riverside lunch, then spend the afternoon relaxing beside the water. Dinner and overnight at the resort.

After breakfast, drive deeper into the valley — stopping briefly at Sharda to see the ruins of the ancient Hindu university on the riverbank. Continue to Kel bazaar, then transfer by jeep up the steep track to car-free Arrang Kel. Arrive for lunch with views across the valley and the Indian-held Neelam on the far ridge. The afternoon is for exploring the traditional Kashmiri wooden houses and meadow paths of the village before a bonfire dinner under the stars.

Morning in the forest above the village — the silver fir trail opens into clearings with sweeping views of the snow peaks above the Neelam. Return for lunch at the guesthouse, then descend back to Keran and the valley floor. Stop at Sharda on the way back for river water sports — rafting, tubing or simply a riverside picnic — before checking back in at the Keran resort for a final night beside the river.

An early breakfast and final look at the river before heading home. The drive out of the valley passes through Muzaffarabad and climbs to Murree — a hill station and popular stopping point for tea and snacks — before descending to the motorway. Lahore is reached by midnight.
